Re-reading

Tim Ferris’s isnt reading any new books this year. He’s only re-reading favorites. This strikes fear in my heart.

I am most definitely reading new books. But, I do see his point and so I’m revisiting more favorites than I might typically. I completed annual reading of The Art of Possibility, worked in some Dillard essays in February and am moving through a compendium of Muir. This Sunday I’ve got My First Summer in the Sierra on tap and I cant wait to crack it open again.

The book I reach for more than most any other? Tiny Beautiful Things. For a person facing an impossible decision (scratch that, for a person facing most any decision), the prescription is Ghost Ship. For a person staring blankly into a new season of life, find form in The Future Has an Ancient Heart. I know these lines by heart because they are downright medicinal.

How about you? What do you re-read?
